Meet the New Interim Executive Director
We are so happy to introduce Mike Brown. Welcome to the team!
I am looking forward to working with the great team of staff and volunteers that Mark has put together for the mission of walking beside the youth who are homeless here in the Spokane area. I have always felt called to help in the mission of reconciling young people with God and society and believe strongly that the team here at Cup Of Cool Water is one of the best ways to accomplish this mission.
My primary purpose here at Cup is to help the team with administrative and operational challenges such as fund raising. Hopefully, this will free up Mark’s time so he can concentrate on expanding both the mission and number of youth served by Cup of Cool Water.
I have over 50 years of experience in the business world, with much of that time spent as an owner or principal of a start up business. During these 50 plus years I have also earned several degrees in business including an MBA and am currently enrolled in the Masters of Theology program at Whitworth.
I believe that each of us have been given specific gifts from God for use in furthering His kingdom. One of the gifts God has blessed me with is the ability to develop and organize procedures and methods for generating revenues and managing organizations. I believe God has called me to do that here at Cup Of Cool Water.
On a personal note, I live in North Spokane with my wife of 56 years. We have two children, a son with a family in the Palm Springs, California area and a daughter and her family living in Oak Harbor, Washington. Between them, we have been blessed with four grandchildren. My wife and I do various volunteer work here in Spokane and are members of Pilgrim Lutheran Church on NW Boulevard.
