On March 31st we wrapped up our first Mentorship session. We had a small graduation celebration and gave out certificates with hugs.

I want to add a big thank you to Dutch Bros for donating free drink cards to sweeten the deal!
I believe we all, mentors and mentees, had fun and learned more about ourselves throughout the 8 weeks.
In order to satisfy my need for data, I asked the youth and a couple mentors to fill out a survey. When asked to pick their favorites out of all the topics and/or activities - our discussions about values and personal responsibility were #1, followed closely with their weekly mentor meetings.
As explained by a youth, “Learning about values helped me to better understand myself.” One-on-one mentor meetings were opportunities to “talk out my issues and figure out ways to resolve them. It was also nice to have someone listen to me.”
Overall several youth were grateful to “contribute to the community and have something to do.”
We are starting another 8 week Mentorship session soon. Please pray with us for our youth who are considering to join and for our mentors.
We also want to continue the tradition of giving out graduation gifts. If you would like to donate items (water bottles, gift cards, day bus passes…) please contact Rachel@cupofcoolwater.org or call 509.416.6680.
